Pomegranate: An Observation On Karma--ZenMoon

Pomegranate

There is a lovely new pomegranate fruit on my bonsai pomegranate tree. The pomegranate is symbolic of abundance and prosperity. I am reminded how impossible it is to know exactly when or how we planted the seeds in our past. All that can be seen is the fruit in the present. It is too easy to celebrate or lament about the sweet and/or bitter fruit and forget that we ourselves had planted its seeds. We are not a victim of any randomness nor are we the “winner” of some random “lottery.”

"While we still exist in the Karmic realm, both the positive and negative Karma shall come and go."

Live in the Dharma in the present and fully experience life with informed awareness. Experience life in each moment with full awareness and acknowledgement of both the sweet and bitter fruit. While we still exist in the Karmic realm, both the positive and negative Karma shall come and go. In the here and now, living with the Pure Mind and compassion shall spontaneously propagate the sweet fruits and negate the bitter ones. We are our own saviours and ultimately chart our own path to for transcendence of Samara.
