Enlightenment: the Enduring Infinite State of Awareness
Enlightenment is a absolute and unchanging state of being and awareness. Enlightenment is the state of Buddhahood. One is either Enlightened or one is not Enlightened. One has either attainted Buddhahood or one has not attainted Buddhahood. There is nothing in between...no gray areas...no confusions.
Enlightenment is a one-way trip transcending the Karmic circle into Buddhahood and reaching Nirvana. Once Enlightened, the Inner Light shall be at an enduring and infinite illumination. The Inner Light no longer darken nor waver in the life winds. Enlightenment is a state of being that allows one to exist in Nirvana. With the Inner Light at full illumination, an Enlightened Being resides in the timeless and enduring Nirvana.
Transcending the Karmic realm, an Enlightened Being is not drawn back into the Karmic world by Karmic consequences, just as the lotus is no longer of the cloudy clay-medium below. A Buddha is not dependent on the Karmic world for the sustenance of the Enlightenment state, unlike the physical lotus plant's dependence on the muddy nutrient in order for the lotus flower to bloom. A Buddha is not required to continually "practice" in order to remain at Buddhahood. Once attained, the state of Enlightenment is an effortless natural state of timeless being.
An Enlightened Being may compassionately return to the Karmic world to help others realize his/her own full potential to reach Enlightenment. Returning to the Karmic world, without any entanglements in the circle of Karmic creation and consequence, an Enlightment Being may exist side-by-side with us, either in the physical form or in the spiritual form.
A Buddha uses Bi, Compassion, to guide the unenlightened souls along their own life paths, so that they may transcend the murky Karmic existence. I believe we each have capability to self-awaken from our Karmic dream state. Each one of us can transcend the mundane to achieve Enlightenment and reach Nirvana. We each have our own Wisdom, Tri. The Enlightened Beings can effectively aid us if we have our own Will and Determination, Dzung, to forge onward and forward along the path toward Nirvana.
I feel my prayers are answered in spirit by the Enlightened Beings. I pray before I read a Sutra. I pray for guidance away from the concrete words, so that I can fully understand the essence of the Teaching. I feel that both my prayers and my utilizing the Instrumental Virtues have help me significantly along my life path to reach my spiritual destination: Nirvana.
